The company&#8217;s stock is up 17% after the announcement, trading as high as $US300 per share after hours.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla earnings were a surprise to Wall Street which had anticipated the company would have made a loss of $0.24. The company however missed on revenue expectations reporting total revenues of $6.3 billion against an expected $6.45 billion. Tesla reported a record number of deliveries as well as improved gross margins. Trial production of Model Ys have already started and are also ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n<p><b>Vehicle Sales<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Tesla reported production of 96,000 vehicles in the third quarter and delivery of 97,000.<\/p>\n<p>Total vehicle sales was $5.35 billion compared with 6.03 billion in the same period last year. Tesla accredits the decline is vehicle sales revenues to the lowering of the average selling price per unit for Model 3s.
